Notice on the Selection of 2024 Shanghai Outstanding Graduates and Shanghai Polytechnic University Outstanding Graduates

In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, implement the important thought of General Secretary Xi Jinping on doing a good job of talents in the new era, cultivate college graduates in an all-round way, commend and reward students who have all-round development in morality, intellect, physicality, aesthetics and labor with outstanding performance in accordance with the Provisions on the Management of Students of Ordinary Higher Education Institutions (Decree No. 41 of the Ministry of Education), etc., and give full play to the role of exemplary incentives and leadership of outstanding college students, guide the College students set up a correct view of growth and career choice, according to the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission on doing a good job in the selection of outstanding graduates of Shanghai ordinary schools of higher education in the year 2024 (Shanghai Education Commission Study 〔2024〕 No. 8), Shanghai Polytechnic University outstanding graduate selection methods (Shanghai Polytechnic University Research 〔2021〕 No. 170), Shanghai Polytechnic University outstanding graduates (Shanghai Polytechnic University Research 〔2021〕 No. 2), and the outstanding graduates of the college (Shanghai Polytechnic University Research 〔2021〕 No. 3). (Shanghai Polytechnic University [2017] No. 181), the university decided to carry out the selection of Shanghai Polytechnic University Excellent Graduates (hereinafter referred to as University Excellent Graduates) and Shanghai Excellent Graduates (hereinafter referred to as City Excellent Graduates) among the graduates of the Class of 2024. (hereinafter referred to as University Outstanding Graduates and Shanghai Outstanding Graduates). The relevant matters are notified as follows:

I. Selection conditions and ratios

(i) Selection criteria and proportion of outstanding graduates of the University

1. Requirements for the selection of outstanding school graduates

(1) Have a firm and correct political orientation, abide by laws and regulations and school rules and regulations, have not been disciplined during their school years, and have no bad credit records.

(2) To be included in the national unified enrollment plan of general colleges and universities, to complete all the studies in the teaching plan on time, and to obtain the corresponding graduation and degree certificates.

(3) Diligent in study, excellent in grades, and all-round development in ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics. Actively participate in social practice and volunteer service, with strong practical and innovative ability.

(4) Solid professional knowledge, having received scholarships at the university level or above during the school years, and outstanding performance in all aspects.

2. Percentage of outstanding school graduates

The university selects graduate and undergraduate students at a rate of no more than 15% of the number of recent graduates, and specialists at a rate of no more than 10% of the number of recent graduates.

(ii) Selection criteria and proportion of outstanding graduates in the city

1. Conditions for selection of outstanding graduates of the city

(1) Outstanding graduates of the city shall be selected from among the outstanding graduates of the university, and in principle, they shall have received honors at the university level or above, or they shall have outstanding performance in a certain area, have made remarkable achievements or have made outstanding contributions.

(2) Graduates who have a correct outlook on employment and career choice, who respond to the national call to devote themselves to the national defense cause, and who voluntarily go to the grassroots level such as the west, remote and poor areas and difficult industries, as well as to key fields, emerging fields and international organizations, are given priority in the recommendation and selection process.

2. Percentage of outstanding graduates in the city

The university selects graduate and undergraduate students at a rate of no more than 5% of the number of recent graduates, and specialists at a rate of no more than 3% of the number of recent graduates.

II. Selection process

The school carries out the selection of outstanding graduates openly, fairly and impartially through the application of the participating candidates themselves, the recommendation of the democratic evaluation of the class, the examination and public announcement of the college, the examination of the school, and the public announcement of the school.

III. How students apply

(i) Application for Outstanding School Graduate

From now on, all students who meet the selection requirements should submit application materials, fill in the Registration Form of Outstanding Graduates of Shanghai Polytechnic University (Attachment 1), and submit it to the counselor together with relevant supporting materials. After the counselor organizes the democratic evaluation and preliminary examination of the class, the application will be submitted to the college for examination.

(ii) Application for City Outstanding Graduates

From now on, all students who meet the selection requirements should submit application materials, fill in the Registration Form for Outstanding Graduates of Shanghai Ordinary Colleges and Universities (Annex 2), and submit it to the counselor together with relevant supporting materials. After the counselor organizes the democratic evaluation and preliminary examination of the class, the application will be submitted to the college for examination.

IV. Time and Requirements for Submission of College Materials

(i) Requirements for submission of materials for outstanding graduates of the University

After the college audit and public announcement (not less than 3 working days), each college will send the electronic version of Shanghai Polytechnic University Outstanding Graduates Registration Form and Shanghai Polytechnic University Outstanding Graduates Summary Form (Annex 3) to swwu@sspu.edu.cn by April 8th; and the paper version of Shanghai Polytechnic University Outstanding Graduates Registration Form (two copies with signature and seal) and Shanghai Polytechnic University Outstanding Graduates Summary Form (Annex 4) by April 15th. .edu.cn; submit the paper version of Registration Form of Excellent Graduates of Shanghai Polytechnic University No.2 (two copies, signed and stamped) and Summary Form of Excellent Graduates of Shanghai Polytechnic University No.2 (one copy, stamped by the college) to Room 111 of the Student Activity Center by April 15th.

(ii) Requirements for submission of materials for the city's outstanding graduates

After the college audit and public announcement (not less than 3 working days), each college will send the electronic version of Summary Table of Shanghai Outstanding Graduates (Attachment 4) to swwu@sspu.edu.cn before April 8, and notify the relevant students to log on the website of Shanghai 24365 University Student Employment Service from April 10-12: www.firstjob.shec.edu.cn. .edu.cn, click on Declaration System for Excellent Graduates of Shanghai Universities to fill in the form (for details of the operation steps, please refer to Attachment 5), and then export and print the Registration Form for Excellent Graduates of Shanghai Ordinary Schools of Higher Education; and then send the paper version of the Registration Form for Excellent Graduates of Shanghai Ordinary Schools of Higher Education (in duplicate, with signature and stamp) and the Summary Form of Excellent Graduates of Shanghai (Attachment 5) to Shanghai 24365 University Student Employment Service Website:  on April 15 Before April 15, submit the paper version of Shanghai Outstanding Graduates Registration Form (two copies, signed and sealed) and Shanghai Outstanding Graduates Summary Form (one copy, stamped by the college) to Room 111 of the Student Activity Center.

City Outstanding Graduates are required to submit materials of their deeds, with a word count of 1,000-1,500 words (Song font, small four, line spacing of 20 pounds) and two electronic photos of themselves (including one ID photo and one single frontal photo of life, each with a pixel of not less than 500KB). The college will send the electronic version of the deed materials and photos to swwu@sspu.edu.cn before April 15 with the name of College + Municipal Excellent Deeds.

V. Do a good job of publicizing the outstanding graduates of this college and setting up learning examples

1. After the selection of outstanding graduates at the school level and the municipal level, the publicity work of advanced models should be strengthened, and the deeds of outstanding graduates can be publicized and exchanged among the lower grades of the college through the E-class website, WeChat public number, experience exchange meeting, poster publicity, etc., so as to create an atmosphere of learning models.

2. The school will introduce the city's outstanding graduates on official microblogging and other publicity platforms.

3. Students who are awarded the title of Outstanding Graduate are awarded the relevant honorary certificates.

VI. A student who has been recognized as an Outstanding Graduate shall have his/her title of Outstanding Graduate revoked if any of the following circumstances occur before graduation from the university

1. Bachelor's degree graduates who have not received a bachelor's degree, and specialist graduates who have not passed the graduation qualification examination;

2. Violation of school rules and regulations;

3. Being criticized and dealt with at all levels of the university.

VII. Tips for counselors to do a good job in selecting outstanding graduates

1. Counselors should do a rigorous job of reviewing the academics of the students applying for the program, and those who currently still owe credits in addition to their graduation design will not be declared;

2. Counselors should do a good job of communicating with the graduation design instructors to understand the graduation design completion of the applicant students. Those who cannot complete the graduation design on schedule and those who perform poorly in the graduation design will not be declared.
